Tired Karson!!

Today was a day filled of errands with the boYs!! They did extremely well, except that they took a small nap in the car and then wouldn't go down for a "regular" nap at home...during dinner, Karson decided that he would finish his nap then :)

This is too cute not to share! He may kill me later!!

Melting Mommy's heart!!!!!

For the last couple days, my boYs have been displaying some behavior that I'm in LOVE with!!! Johnathon will ask Karson if he wants to go play with him, and the two will join hands and walk down the hallway into one of their rooms to play! It simply melted my heart the first time I saw it!! The sound of them running down the hallway talking and laughing and the pitter patter of their feet simply takes my breath away! I cannot express in words the feeling I have inside...my boYs are REALLY best friends!! They feel each others' emotions (well almost..) they laugh together, cry together, and J tells Karson in these exact words "Aww Karson, I love you sooo much!!" and he really means it!!
These moments will not always prevail, but I pray that they will learn to grow with one another in their many adventures and that they will seek to understand one another when they are not so best friends. Growing up I did not always have the best relationships with my siblings, (probably because there were so many of us!!) but watching them play together, read stories, sing songs, and hold conversations displays the behavior I always want them to have!! This of course would be in a perfect world, but a mommy can hope right?!? I might have trouble later on when they see pictures of them together holding hands, hugging, and kissing, but until then, I will take as many pictures as I can of them loving each other so that I may remind them of the love they have for one another even when they don't feel it at the moment :)

J's Surgery

Johnathon went into the hospital for his second set of tubes yesterday...he had his first set put in back in January 07 because he had TONS of ear infections as a baby and they wanted to try and put a stop to all of them. The first surgery went well and he didn't have but 1 ear infection since. We went to his "final" checkup back in July and found out that he still had some fluid built up around his left ear and also had 20% hearing reduction in that ear. They don't call it a hearing loss because it can be reversed. So, after talking with the doctor, we decided we would do another set of tubes to offset that hearing reduction. I knew before we went to his appointment that we may have needed to do something more for J just becuase sometimes you literally have to yell to get his attention. I didn't know if this was because he was a boy or if he really had a hard time hearing me. He also knows all of his alphabet and sounds, but some words are hard to understand and some letters when said make the 'b' sound, not their sound so that concerned me as well. I want to make sure that he has every advantage possible!! We may have to go see a speech therapist later on just to practice with him, but that will be awhile before I know if we should do that...
Going into the hospital, I was nervous and anxious becuase J is older know and is really aware of his surroundings so I didn't know if he would freak out or not. He was such a CHAMP!! While waiting to go in, we talked to the doctors, read stories, colored pictures and he was so calm. When they finally came to get him, he took the nurses hand, walked out with her and didn't turn back! That broke my heart a little because he is getting to be more brave, and a big boy!! I thought for sure that he would cry, but only mommy did!! The surgery lasted only 7 minutes and recovery was about 15 minutes. We couldn't be in the room for the surgery so they came and got him beforehand and we had to wait til he woke up to see him afterwards. Everything went according to plan and he was a little loopy, but he is already back to himself!
God was watching over him during his surgery and I PRAISE him for that!!

Beach Fun!!

Mike and I took the boys to the beach for some fun and to cool off! They had sooo much fun! Karson I knew loved the water, but J on the other hand not sooo much. I thought he would stay up on the sand, but to my surprise, he got right in there and played :)

Afterwards we went out to get ice cream!! This was an interesting event as well!! We gave both of the boys their own cone...J obviously is big enough to handle his own, but Karson, well, you can tell from the pics!! He held it the whole time since I wasn't aloud to help, but he did finish it :)
It was a fun day!!

The meN in my life!!!

Michael and I have been together for over 8 years now!!! Still crazy that I can think back to that exact day when we "met" (although we kinda knew each other from church before we got together)...he is the rock in my life and I am very thanful that God made him for me!!!

 

A little over 3 years ago we added someone very special into our lives!!! We got pregnant on the pill and everyone swears I was flushing my birth control, but God evidentally wanted Johnathon to come to us early!!! THe timing was all wrong at first since I was still in school, but we found it was the PERFECT timing and we couldn't have asked for a greater gift!! He is my little man growing up waayyyy to fast...he'll be starting preschool in about a month!!

 

Knowing that we wanted our children roughly spaced about 2 years apart, along came our second greatest gift ever!!! Karson is now 16 months old and blessed me in ways that I cannot even begin to express!! God has shown us what heaven will look like through the eyes of my children!!! I cannot simply put into words what I really feel about my children except that they have my whole heart and then some!!

 

Now we're just waiting for when the time is right to possibly add the last addition to our family!! I want that to be NOW, but God is telling me to wait! I just have to listen and see what he has in store for us and patiently wait for when that time is right!!!

Did I mention I have the cutest newphews in the world??? These pictures are kinda old (especially Brecken's!!), so that just means I need to get new ones soon!! They have captured my heart and I'm blessed that they are in my life!! Dominic and Brecken have definitely brightened up my world too!!!




I also cannot forget about my niEce!! She is just as old as Johnathon and is getting smarter and wiser by the minute!!! She is a firecracker at times, but is sooo loving and caring and it's awesome watching her grow!!!



Life cannot get any better than this!!!!

Little White Fish

Johnathon is about ready to start preschool and we've been working on reading LoTs of books with him to get him used to listening and paying attention so when he is in preschool he can blow the teachers away at how Smart he is!! But, we already knew he was smart from the beginning, but I still want him to blow them away :) I buy the boYs books about every month and for every holiday and one book in particular called "Little White Fish" has become widely used in my home!! I bought this book for Karson, but Johnathon has adopted this book as his faVorite and we read it at LEAST twice a day if not more!!! He is now (well, been) at the point where he has it memorized and loves reading it to me and to Karson!!! I cannot wait for Karson to start showing this to me too!! He also displays the different emotions in the story and is very cute listening and watching him!! I put a clip on here where J is reading "Little White Fish" to me and to Karson asking Karson the questions!!

Veggie Tales!!

Every child has their favorite(s) cartoon or movie and my boYs extremely enjoy Veggie Tales!! It's sooo funny cuz J has the theme song memorized including the commentary!! We sing it in the car, in the grocery store, at home, wherever we want :) Karson is funny too cuz he knows how the rhythm of the song but won't quite yet talk for me :( He just kinda hums or yells out the rhythm while the song is playing! During the song he also dances in circles!! I think you will all enjoy the clip of J singing his faVorite song!! My children are getting to be too big!! I simpLy cannot get enough of them!! Their imaginations amaze me everyday by the little things they do and the stuff they put together to be soooo creative!

Karson's Silliness!!

So Karson has been displaying some unusual behavior lately...we simply cannot figure out what's going on in that brain of his! No wonder why his head is red all the time and has marks all over him :) It's sooo funny to watch him when he's doing this! J even questions me about it! Too cute!!
